Summer Trip 2017

This summer we had the privilege of hosting the Carroll Family Reunion in Florida!  Then we promptly forgot to take pictures of it.  So we took pictures of our trip to Idaho/Utah instead.  We spent 2 weeks in the mountain west, and every day was a delight.  We got to go camping in Idaho, go four-wheeling in Utah, and play with so many different cousins that the kids had a hard time keeping them all straight.  They loved it.  Reid and I got to sneak off to go biking and hiking and enjoy a little bit of the fun that we enjoyed before we were blessed with our kids.  Now that both of them can ride on a peddle bike by themselves, though, we hope to take them with us sometime in the near future.  I still get a thrill of joy watching them peddle their little bikes independently.  They are really growing up.

Biking in the mountains by Pocatello, ID.  I had an electric assist bike, which allowed me to keep up with Reid even though I am in much worse shape than he is right now.  I really enjoyed it!
Isaac, cousin David, & Esther crashed on the way to the campsite in Idaho. We camped by Sun Valley, ID.  We got to see the fireworks in Hailey, ID.  This year the kids liked them.  No screaming and crying over the loud noises.

Esther wanted to play "Goldie and Bear" the whole time we were on our hike near Sun Valley.  That is, until she got worn out and started crying to go back to camp.

Isaac hiked pretty quickly with his cousin David until he too got tired and made himself clearly understood that he wanted to be done with the hike.

Cousin Lauren, Esther, Isaac, and Cousin David playing in the mountain stream.  Our kids have never played in water that brisk before.
We drove through Logan, Utah on our way to Blanding.  We had to get Aggie Ice cream, of course.
We bought the kids Utah State t-shirts.  We're trying to indoctrinate them early.
So we all got Aggie t-shirts.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
A picture on the Elk Ridge near Blanding, UT.  We were enjoying borrowing my Dad's 4-wheeler.

Time to come home.  We took the train from SLC to the airport.
We found this at the airport on our way home.  This is a Magic Tree House series poster.  Isaac and I are reading the books and he is currently on number 5.  I'm proud of my boy.
