All about Isaac

Image
This past week I got to spend some time with Isaac at school.  We came to watch him earn money for the school via a fun run.  My parents, Isaac's aunt, and I all pledged money for Isaac to run in the fun run at school.  He completed 46 laps, but since the max was only 35, that's as many as they counted.  I must say that Isaac is very athletic and has fantastic running form. The day after the fun run, I got to go with Isaac on a field trip to the local grocery store.  He got to see how the bakery decorates cakes.  Those ladies really make it look like magic.  After the demonstration, he got his hand decorated and had a good time licking it off.  It was nice to finally see Isaac in school with his class.  I hope I can go back and volunteer more often.

It Valentine's Time

Valentine's day is almost here.  We have been busy preparing homemade valentines for Isaac's classmates and for Esther's joy school buddies.   I tried to keep them simple, and it was still quite a task to make them all.  I had heart shaped cookie cutters that we dipped in paint, and then stamped them onto colored pieces of paper.  Then we sprinkled glitter on them.  Then the kids wrote on the back of each card to personalize them for their friends.   The glitter is everywhere now.  I'll probably be finding it in the cracks of the table and in the kids' hair for weeks.  Isaac wanted to make them, though.  I gave him an option of buying or making them, and this is what he wanted to do.  Now I just need to attach it to some candy so the other kids don't feel like they got bamboozled.
