Jaydon's 6th Birthday

Happy 6th Birthday Jaydon!  Now that he's been with us just over 2 years and is officially an Archibald, I have no shame posting these pictures.  Jaydon loves cars, so he had a Lightning McQueen birthday, complete with all kinds of car themed presents.  He went from owning 1 Lightning McQueen car to owning 5.  Even after that, he begged his Grammy to give him another one, because it was yellow.  Who knew there was a yellow Lightning McQueen? 

For Jaydon's party, we took his brother and sister and 3 friends of his choosing to Defy, a trampoline park. I chose not to post pictures of his friends, but I got one of him and his siblings.  When we got done jumping, we came home to presents, ice cream, and cake.  It was fun, and still about wore me out.  who knew four 6 year old boys could wear you out so fast?

It took this kid probably 8 tries to blow out all his candles.  I don't see trick candles in his future any time soon.

Not your typical Christmas Day

Christmas tree at Calvary Chapel.  Our neighbors always invite us to go to a special Christmas Eve Service. Christmas 2016 was unique in 2 ways:  1, it was on a Sunday, and 2, the kids didn't open presents until after 3:30 PM.  The day started off with the kids getting excited about the fact that their sugar loaded breakfast was in their stockings.  They got juice in character shaped bottles; Isaac got Darth Vader and Esther got Miss Piggy.  Then they got individual serving of lucky charms.  Unsurprisingly, they ate the marshmallows and left the rest.  They also got the standard canister of Pringles and gummy bears.   After that, we had to rush to get ready for church. No time for presents.  After church, we came home and had just enough time to make and eat a delicious brunch, which included our favorite raspberry cream cheese muffins.  Then we got in the car to go to the hospital to sing Christmas carols to the sick.  Again, no time for presents.  We finally made it home j

Brevard Phoenix Cup

 Isaac participated in the Brevard Phoenix Cup this weekend.  He only plays on Saturdays so we can attend church on the Sabbath and keep the Sabbath Day the Lord's Day.  Isaac has always been very responsive to this--never complaining that he doesn't get to play on Sunday.  His team has gone on to win a couple of tournaments with him helping them on Saturday and not going on Sunday.  I hope they continue to be understanding of our religious views.   Reid took a video of the one of the games they played on Saturday.  Isaac makes a sweet goal at 61:47 on the video, if you are ever interested.  He is player 10 in blue.  This was their second game on Saturday, Jan. 20th, 2024.  I was hoping against hope that someone from our team would score against this team--because our boys were playing up against the 13 year olds, and our team is all 12 year olds and under.  I was super excited when our boys scored, and even more excited that it happened to be my boy that got the goal.  Of cour

L3Harris Rocket Launch

 Our family was invited to the Kennedy Space Center to watch a rocket launch because Reid's company worked on the payload for this rocket.  It was really cool, and a little bit chilly.  We did finally hear the sonic boom, but I was super surprised how delayed the sound was from the visual.  The whole ordeal of sending a satellite to outer space was like 15 minutes.  It's crazy how fast we can put a satellite into orbit these days.
