Last Summer Hurrah!

For our last week of summer, we went to church and wore "Rose Colored Glasses" that our primary music teacher, Sister Gibson, brought for us.  They weren't really rose-colored, but they were super cool, and all of my kids had to try them on.

Sister Gibson and Esther. Esther absolutely adores Sister Gibson.

Jaydon and the "Rose-colored Glasses"

On Tuesday and Thursday, we went to the beach for the first time all summer just because that's a summer necessity in Florida.  We've been avoiding it all summer because Jaydon had surgery and wasn't supposed to go and Isaac had soccer camps that conflicted with the beach.  So we went twice in one week just to make it happen.

*Side note on a personal level: On Thursday, while I was at the beach with the kids, I was offered a teaching job--which I accepted.

Esther, the little mother hen, had little kids helping her dig for things in the sand.  It was pretty cute to watch them together.

Isaac spent the whole day pretty much playing in the waves with his friends.

Jaydon, who a few summers ago absolutely hated the water, was also playing in the waves.  He had quite the sunburn after Thursday, even with me reapplying his sunscreen.

Esther has now caught 3-4 ghost crabs at the beach and some mini fish too.
